American Red Cross Internal Training Program

Introduction:

Imagine being part of one of the most impactful organizations in the world, the American Red Cross. Now, what if you had the opportunity to grow your skills and expertise while contributing to this mission?

Overview:

As a key player in planning and executing the Internal Training Program, I helped deliver a transformational learning experience to thousands of volunteers and employees across the country—absolutely free. To elevate engagement, I created dynamic marketing campaigns that captured the heart of the program's value proposition. I streamlined digital materials, making registration smoother and more intuitive than ever, which significantly enhanced the user experience. By implementing comprehensive tracking and analysis, I was able to measure the program’s success and pinpoint areas for even greater impact. This role gave me invaluable experience in program management, strategic marketing, and data-driven decision-making, all while directly contributing to the professional development of individuals committed to making a difference in the world.

Objectives:

• Maximize registration rates for the Red Cross Internal Training Program

• Revitalize internal communication channels to increase awareness and excitement about the program

• Implement a compliance plan to ensure proper use of employee and volunteer training vouchers

Approach:

• Conduct research to understand current registration trends and uncover insights into attitudes toward the program

• Reimagine and elevate internal communications to create buzz and excitement about the program’s benefits

• Develop actionable metrics that track participation and ensure full compliance while driving engagement across all Red Cross chapters

Engaging Internal Communications

I had the exciting opportunity to contribute to crafting and writing internal publications that kept our teams connected, informed, and engaged with the mission and vision of the organization. Whether it was drafting content for employee newsletters or internal communications, my goal was always to create engaging and impactful messaging that sparked interest and inspired action.

Working closely with various teams, I gathered essential insights and streamlined communication processes to ensure the swift and effective delivery of critical updates. Notably, I contributed to publications about exciting new developments like the revamped Internal Training Program and fresh initiatives such as the HSA Program, both aimed at improving the employee experience and empowering our workforce.

Through these efforts, I was able to amplify the excitement around our programs and contribute to a culture of growth and engagement within the organization.

Marketing Presentations:

I was given the exciting opportunity to create a compelling marketing presentation for the American Red Cross's Internal Training Program, set to be shared across all chapters nationwide. This presentation was designed to captivate and engage all employees and volunteers, showcasing the key features and undeniable benefits of the program. With visually striking infographics and detailed data on course offerings, as well as a comprehensive guide to the registration process, the presentation aimed to demonstrate how the Internal Training Program not only enhances professional development and life-saving skills but also reinforces the organization’s strong culture of growth and service.

Surveys and Community Outreach:

Beyond crafting marketing materials, I also spearheaded a survey initiative to gather valuable feedback on the Internal Training Program’s current state. The survey was meticulously designed to assess participants' experiences, identify opportunities for improvement, and measure the overall effectiveness of the program. Collaborating closely with the analytics and service delivery team, we ensured the survey was both thorough and easy to complete, enabling us to gather actionable insights. After distributing the survey, I analyzed the results and compiled a detailed report that highlighted key trends, participant feedback, and recommendations for future enhancements.

Collaborating Across Departments:

Helping other departments like HR promote their new initiatives is a key part of our role in marketing, and the launch of the HSA Program was no exception. By working together to amplify this new program, we ensured that our colleagues had the tools and knowledge to navigate these updates easily. It’s the least the marketing team can do to support HR and other departments, after all, we’re all working toward the same mission to create an empowered, informed workforce.
